Season Standings — Ian: 198-145 Aly: 189-154
Ian maintains his nine-game lead for the season standings. This week’s bet includes a grand prize. The loser must clean both of our lovely Subarus. Now, these cars haven’t been cleaned in awhile, so it will be quite the activity for whoever loses. I’m ready to get into the win column after tying in last week’s race.
NHL Sunday Picks:
Another week is almost over and in the books for our picks race. Just to recap, this week’s bet is a Honey-Do pass, allowing the winner to turn it in when they get a “honey-do” note.
Thursday Standings – Ian: 22-15 Aly: 19-18
I’ve managed to close the gap a tiny bit, but I’m still trailing by three games. Three of the games being played tonight are split, allowing Ian to further his gap and take me out of the running for the honey-do pass, making tomorrow’s picks a formality.

Friday Standings – Ian: 24-19 Aly: 24-19
I managed to tie things up last night! This is the first time one of us has closed a large deficit. It all comes down to tonight.

One day into the new week and already Ian has taken the lead.
Sunday Standings – Ian: 4-2 Aly: 2-4
Ian and I are very independent this week already, splitting six games tonight. This could be very good for one of us if all the picks are right. I trail by nine games for the season total, so I need every win this week to close the gap. And after back-to-back losses, I’m ready for a winning week.

Monday Standings – Ian: 10-5 Aly: 6-9
I’m having a rough week of picks again. I continue to fall further and further behind Ian, giving him a huge advantage for the week and for the season.
NHL Tuesday Picks:
Tuesday Standings – Ian: 15-7 Aly: 10-12
I now sit five games behind Ian, one more game than yesterday.
NHL Wednesday Picks:
Wednesday Standings – Ian: 17-10 Aly: 12-15
I’m still five games behind Ian, but with four games tonight being split, I might be able to catch up a little bit. Time is running out though, and soon I’ll be handing over the Honey-Do Pass.
NHL Thursday Picks:
For the second week in a row I lost to Ian. This time by two games 28-24 to 26-26. He now leads me by nine games for the season-long bet of dinner and a back rub.

This week’s bet is a Honey-Do Pass. The winner of the pass will get out of a chore given to them by the significant other. The only stipulation is that it cannot be used to get out of a weekly bet chore.

The last two days are finally here. The standings are in from last night’s action, leaving me with a good shot at cleaning the basement.

Hopefully tonight I can close the gap again and not fall further behind.

Friday Standings – Ian: 22-19 Aly: 20-21
I closed the gap by one game, keeping myself in the running for a relaxing Sunday afternoon without having to clean the basement. But today’s games will decide it all. The four games are even more important because the season will be over in a few weeks and I’m trailing by eight games.
NHL Saturday Picks:
Another week is in full force for the picks race. The challenge this week will be who gets to clean our corner of the basement….which is going to be a day-long activity for whoever loses.
Standings – Ian: 4-3 Aly: 3-4
The race is close, and each game we split will have an impact on the end, just like last week. To recap, I lost by one game and am now cursed with wearing a Bruins jersey out every day this week. And believe me, it’s a curse.

Monday Standings – Ian: 8-6 Aly: 7-7
The standings didn’t change at all. I still trail Ian by one game, but at least the score is close. I think this is the first time that the score has been this close for the first two days of the week. We only split two of the games tonight, so that doesn’t leave much room for one of us to pull ahead. Every game counts.
NHL Tuesday Picks:
Tuesday Standings – Ian: 13-10 Aly: 11-12
Well, Ian gained another game on me taking every game we split except for one. The challenge is for me to find a way to catch up. The Bruins get the Canadiens tonight after the Penguins pulled out a 1-0 win. I actually picked the Canadiens to win the game, because of the recent Bruins struggles. We split every game, so if there is a time for me to catch up, this is it.

Wednesday Standings – Ian: 14-13 Aly: 14-13
I was able to tie the score last night by taking all but one game. Now the eyes turn toward tonight’s games and the four games we split. The Penguins continue to stack their team and last night pulled the blockbuster trade of the season, acquiring Jerome Iginla.
NHL Thursday Picks:
The picks were extremely close, and after the first three games were entered we stood tied. As I watched my lead slowly became a deficit. After a hard-fought battle that came down to the last game, Ian beat me by one: 28-19 to 27-20.
So this week I’ll be wearing around a Bruins jersey and hoping to not be too embarrassed. Next week the loser will be tasked with cleaning the basement. Believe me, it is going to be quite a task for whoever loses.

Well, it’s Friday! We’ve made it through most of the week and only have to wait two more nights to find out who will be cursed with wearing the other team’s jersey all next week.

Ian really closed the gap after taking four of the games last night, leaving me with a one-game lead. Tonight we split two of the games, which could make a winner out of one of us.

Going into tonight, it’s still anyone’s game. We’ll have to wait till tomorrow to see who will get cursed with wearing the Bruins or Penguins jersey all week. I hope it isn’t me.
Well, the week has officially started and so far I stand above Ian going into the second day for the first time! I’m liking my chances of seeing him in a Penguins jersey all next week, so hopefully the picks will continue in my favor.

We split five of the games tonight, so I have a great opportunity to extend my lead and potentially close the gap for the season race. (I’m behind by seven games.)

Monday Standings – Ian: 5-6 Aly: 8-3
Yesterday I maintained my three-game lead over Ian. But in tonight’s action the only thing that will change are the win/loss numbers. We picked the same teams to win in each of the NHL games tonight, including the Bruins and Penguins.
NHL Tuesday Picks:
Tuesday Standings – Ian: 10-10 Aly: 13-7
After a not-so-great performance by the Bruins, Ian has to wake up and realize half the week is over and he still trails by three goals, which means he’ll have to wear the Penguins jersey around for a week. He does have the opportunity to close the gap since we split two of the games. He thinks the Blackhawks will come out on top over the Ducks, but I think that Anaheim will play well enough to overcome Chicago’s power.

Wednesday Standings – Ian: 14-11 Aly: 17-8
Another day done and I still maintain my three-game lead. Ian has a golden opportunity tonight to take the lead and put me in a Bruins jersey all next week. There are six games tonight that we split on, so either one of will take the lead or stay where we are.
NHL Thursday Picks:
Last week’s picks were so close, one game decided who would have to clean the room. I lost, by one game, and now the job of cleaning comes to me. (After the Boston-Pittsburgh game of course.)
Next week’s loser has to wear the other team’s sweater around the house for the whole next week and out on any errands. This will be terrible for the loser, and I’m hoping to see Penguins colors around the house for a week.
